Every order is unique. You're not just another customer: a company may have its own requirements or recommendations, which we need to take into account throughout the translation process. Deadlines, terminology, reference documents, tools... Depending on the type of document to be translated, the factors to be taken into consideration can be very different.
We are experts in terminology searches, storage and retrieval. We compile terminology databases specific to our clients and the subject matter. These terminology banks are built up over the course of collaborations, or as part of one-off projects. These databases are populated by specific research, previous translations and our customers' own terminology lists. We naturally invite our customers to approve the terminology that applies to them. There are many advantages to maintaining these databases: Reduced work and research time, standardisation of terminology for a specific client or field, consistency between different translations, and between different translators. Our customer and domain databases currently include over 150,000 specialist terms, which are classified and computer-readable.
Each project is analysed from an IT perspective, according to the customer's requirements and the characteristics of each text. The aim is to determine the approach best suited to the project: an in-house terminology database, a customer terms list, pre-translation by computer-assisted translation software, or a fully computer-assisted translation.
Choosing the right resource means managing a complete and orderly database. We are continually working to ensure that this is the case. Thanks to this daily maintenance, the long-standing experience of our agency and our recruitment standards, we have built up an international network of freelancers. Editing ensures the quality of a translation. All conscientious translators naturally proofread their translations before delivering them. It has been proven, however, that proofreading by an editor who is neither "polluted" by the source text nor "blinded" by his or her own translation is essential for maximum quality. At BLS, we make a point of systematically revising every text when it is translated into a European language. Corrections made during this review are communicated to the translator to help them improve future translations. Research is carried out to resolve any uncertainties.
Being attentive to the conditions and demands of our clients is part of our self-imposed quality process. To this end, we offer you a personal service: you only communicate with one contact who will guarantee the quality of the work requested. Documents can be delivered in all the usual formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, CorelDraw, html, xml, etc.). They are returned to you in exactly the same format as the original texts.
