Historical background

In May 2001, BLS was created through the acquisition of the business and the name BLS, which had been active in the translation and interpreting market since 1974.

Today, BLS boasts a wealth of experience, particularly in the medical, social, institutional, administrative, technical, legal, economic and financial fields.

This mastery is underpinned by the high level of expertise of our professional translators. Each of our employees works in his or her mother tongue, depending on his or her area of specialisation. With quality in mind, we generally entrust texts in the same field or for the same customer to the same translator.

Status

Ideally located in the heart of the European Quarter in Brussels, our translation and interpreting agency offers professional services to a clientele that attests to our cutting-edge expertise: Government departments, law firms, NGOs, industry, finance, pharmaceutical companies, commercial enterprises, audiovisual productions, publishing houses, private individuals in administrative or legal proceedings, special and confidential missions, etc.

All this less than 2 hours' drive from any part of Belgium, whether French-speaking, Dutch-speaking or German-speaking.

Thanks to our geographical location, we can easily adapt to language differences between Belgian French and its Belgicisms, French from France, Flemish from Belgium, Dutch from the Netherlands, English from the UK, etc.

Team

Translation is much more than simply understanding a text. Which of our in-house and external resources we select is therefore crucial. In fact, you need to be able to render a text in the reader's mother tongue with complete accuracy.

That's why BLS carefully selects its translators. Each has either a background in translation/interpreting/philology, or equivalent experience.

In addition to their linguistic skills, BLS's translators have technical expertise in one or more fields, and are able to solve our clients' problems.
