Conference interpreter

Our interpretation agency is located in Brussels, in the heart of the European district. BLS offers you different types of interpreting:

  • Simultaneous interpreting
    • in a booth
    • with portable equipment
      on the one hand, and
    • face-to-face
    • remotely
  • Liaison interpreting
  • Consecutive interpreting
  • Chuchotage

Simultaneous interpreting requires the use of interpreting booths and the corresponding audio equipment (headphones, microphones, cabling). Each booth is occupied by two interpreters of the same mother tongue, who take turns translating what the speakers are saying as they go.

Liaison interpreting involves accompanying one or more people. The interpreter then acts as a "liaison" with all those who speak another language during meetings, sightseeing tours, drinks parties or exhibition visits with a restricted group.

Consecutive interpreting requires the interpreter to be present in the room, close to the speaker or seated at a round table. The speaker pauses to allow the interpreter to translate the part of the speech that has just been delivered on the basis of notes taken.

Chuchotage consists of interpreting simultaneously in a hushed voice, next to one or two people taking part in a meeting.

Using an interpreting service shows respect for your speakers and guests, in regard to their cultural characteristics and therefore their identity.
Interpreting facilitates exchange and communication between the various participants, and gives an international dimension to your events.
